The sorting is done by hand, rather than a software generator of sorts so it can take up to 48 hours depending on the inflow of quizzes and the admin’s (in this case, me) availability. That said, it shouldn’t be too long a wait. You can still post your character around Diagon Alley meeting people and making friends. IC (unless you aren’t starting with a first year) they wouldn’t know their house anyway so no worries about it affecting anything there
