Perhaps her pessimism on how her colleagues viewed her was a little over the top. That's what it sort of seemed like after two separate professors gave her polite greetings. "Why thank you, Foster. You don't look quite bad yourself." She gave a polite smile and dipped her head graciously in his direction, her gaze following him until he moved to sit down. Next year she would try to befriend him.

Just then, Rafferty walked up to the table and sat down next to her - without so much as a word of greeting. Typical! Out of all of Julian's minions, Rafferty was the one who seemed to look down on her the most. Just thinking of his complete lack of politeness towards her (and this, after all she done to enforce Julian's rules and try to present herself as an ally) filled her with rage. But she wasn't going to say anything. Instead, she inclined herself as far away from him as she could while still remaining in her chair. She didn't even LOOK at him.

Her turning away from Rafferty meant she had to look at Joshua the whole time. That was okay, he was addressing her and trying to be nice. He might think it was weird that she was inclined so much in his direction, or maybe he knew that it was so she didn't have to look at Rafferty. "Why thank you, Joshua," she said in response to his comment on her appearance. "My first year was interesting too...not exactly what I expected, but interesting. I am very much looking forward to this break, though. It will be good to get away from some people." She glanced disdainfully at Rafferty before turning her attention back at Joshua. "You will be back same as me next year, right?" She asked it half-jokingly, but she would SCREAM if she had to endure a year being stuck with just people like Rafferty.

The headmaster's speech began soon. She rose obediently when he ordered them too, but her expression was lifeless. Originally she had thought that a person like Julian was just what the notoriously chaotic Hogwarts needed. That was why she had been so loyal - that, and not wanting to be fired. Now she wasn't so sure, not after seeing students brutalized and not after being threatened with firing.

Then...

Regina appeared.

Alice stared in shock as the former headmistress (the one who had actually hired her to begin with) starting handing out letters to all of the men hired by Julian, and finally to Julian himself. Alice was not stupid. It only took her a few moments to guess what was happening. But was it really??? Alice stared into the former headmistress's eyes, trying to determine what they were saying. She looked happy. This could only mean one thing...

She swerved in her chair to be facing Rafferty. He had a letter too. "What does your letter say?" she demanded, inclining towards him to see.
