And no, this time she did NOT offer him her hand! Did Rafferty believe O’Hara? Not by a long shot. Didn’t she realise that she indeed did sound desperate? She would be stupid if she did not. Rafferty simply looked at O’Hara with superior amusement. “Whatever it is that you want to say so that you sleep easier at nights.’’
This was a short visit indeed. This pleased Rafferty. “Why, yes I do. Good day, Professor O’Hara.’’ Rafferty did not bother to watch her go as he turned his back to the door as he moved to face his desk.
