Wow she was definitely going to win Ravenclaw any house cups with THAT attitude. Not that she ever showed a different one. Jackson sighed before writing down some notes. He had the same thought in his head that the professor voiced. Then of course, she seemed to have decided to be difficult again, and she had apparently gone mute. TEN POINTS LATER and Jackson didn’t know what to do anymore. He was getting so frustrated at Jessa, but his attention was quickly taken by Archer’s jacket. Jackson’s mouth twitched as the spiders appeared. Jackson kept his eyes on the spiders, not wanting any of them to think to head this way. Not because he was afraid of spiders, no. He wasn’t at all actually, but he would smash them all without hesitation because that’s how he handled spiders. Magic or no magic. Jackson completed his notes, listening as the next set of directions were announced.

Haha about not having fairies, but Jackson couldn’t imagine feeding a fairy to anything. He was grateful that they only had bugs to pull from. Jackson got up once they were allowed, and grabbed his fair share of insects and flies. He looked at the birds, and decided to hold the bugs loosely in his hand so that they were visible… Also because he didn’t want to smoosh the bugs together in his hand too much because that was still kind of gross. Here birdy birdy birdy…

It was hard not to be distracted by Jessa's performance, but Chloe would not be dissuaded from her chance to see an augurey up close and in person. She collected a handful of caterpillars and beetles and followed after a younger Ravenclaw in approaching one of the auguries. Merlin, what a truly gorgeous creature.

Not the Ravenclaw. The bird.

Jackson seemed a bit hesitant, and the older Ravenclaw offered quiet advice. "Don't make eye contact, and maybe lay the first one on the ground. Sort of letting it know that there are no strings attached." Chloe set a beetle on the ground and nudged it toward the augurey.
