There ya go Scrimgeour, she remained silent until spoken to. She took in the door lock, and felt somewhat more relaxed. At least there would be an announcement if Mr Headmaster decided to poke his unwanted head in on the lesson. Taking the instruction, Hanna sat in her chair.
She nodded as the subject of healing charms was spoken. It would be an exciting lesson, then! Hanna enjoyed learning about healing, even if it was in no way the career she'd choose for herself. She took the moment to look at the dummy and try to figure out a quick and thorough way to assess it. She jotted some thoughts in her mind, but remained silent and took everything her classmates said down in her mind too, and once Professor Marchand put them all on the board, Hanna wrote them all down on a piece of parchment titled 'Charms'.
Having never used either of the spells, Hanna wrote down what was being said. The incantations and how to pronounce them, and the wand movements, as well as what they actually did. And no, she certainly didn't want to risk further damage by attempting to heal something that was much too far out of her scope. The bandaging charm sounded pretty neat, being that it bandaged, splinted, and relieved pain.
Hanna pulled out her wand and stood up to take the dummy in again. Right, so she was looking for some of the minor cuts, broken toes, and fingers, and some other bigger broken limbs. There was a small cut to the dummy's cheek, and Hanna said "eh-PIS-kee," whilst moving her wand down in a diagonal line. At first, nothing happened. She tried the words a few times, and wordless wand movements to practice. After a few minutes she went back to the dummy. "eh-PIS-kee," she cast again, moving her wand in a downward diagonal line. The cut was smoothed over and seemed to vanish. With a smile, she performed the spell on a few more of the shallow cuts and grazes she saw on the dummy, before moving to some of the smaller broken bones. There looked to be two broken toes, and three broken fingers. "eh-PIS-kee," she said, pointing to the smallest of the broken toes, with a downward diagonal movement from her wand. With a bit of a sickening crunch, the broken toe straightened out and appeared healed. With a small shudder from the sound, she went to work fixing the other toes and fingers.
Once that was done, it was time to have fun with the bandaging charm. "fer-ROOL-lah," she said a dozen times, slowly at first, and then with more confidence. The wand movement was a simple tap, which Hanna practiced a few times before trying it out for real, on what looked like a broken upper arm. She cleared her throat, pointed her wand towards the break and said "fer-ROOL-lah," and gave the arm a tap with her wand. At first nothing happened, so she repeated it. The second time, bandages wrapped around both the limb and a splint. She couldn't assess whether the dummy was out of pain, however, because it was a dummy.
