"Hey there, Zoryn." she greeted, her surprise melting away to reveal a warm smile. They were not the very best of friends (shout out to Mairwen Baines and Faith Chosen) but that didn't mean Julie couldn't be pleased to see her.

..... Maybe she could strike that last bit.

Gryffindors, they were as unsubtle as a enraged erumpent. It wasn't like the Seventh Year hadn't expected questions, it was obvious something had happened between herself and jessa and only natural that the noses of others would find their way into it. She'd just been hoping to avoid it for a little while longer- like maybe forever. "It's NEWTs year, any spare time I've got is spent with my nose in a book." Julie casually said, her green eyes on the lookout for any loitering elves. Her demeanor was calm, aloof even despite her lower belly turning nastily. "Why is that weird?" She laughed, tossing her head and grinning at Zoryn like they were having a perfectly charming and not at all anxiety-inducing conversation. "I admit, you and Jessa aren't very similar but I've certainly seen stranger friendships." No, she couldn't think of any at the moment, but that was beside the point. Julie was trying to be elusive and difficult, and listing instances of skrewts and puppies cuddling wasn't ether.
There was a difference between the noses of others, and the one that belonged to Zoryn Spinnet. Typically the others would try, fail, and walk away. Zoryn on the other hand? She liked pushing buttons. And typically, she'd push until she got an answer. And no one was off limits. Not even a friend.

The NEWTs comment hardly got any attention from the Gryffindor. She wasn't daft, she knew that was just an excuse. Excuses typically worked too, Zoryn would know. She made many of them on the daily. But that's the issue. You can't really play someone at their own game.

Julie Bellaire was sensible, albeit somewhat peculiar, but definitely sensible. And any sensible person knew that you couldn't spend all your time studying, there had to be some time for fun. And the only person Zoryn knew who studied for fun was Christopher Montmorency, and even he could spare some time for particular "extracurricular activities". So, unfortunately, Zoryn didn't care about the NEWTs thing. Julie would have to try harder to deter her.

"Not weird because it's me and Jessa," she gave Julie a playful eye roll and a light shove, despite her actual, underlying annoyance. "Weird because I've been spending a lot of time with her... But you've never been around. Thought you two were besties."

Yes, that was an accusation.
