Nathan needed a place he could hide his most prized prank items within close vicinity of the Great Hall. He had a couple of -broom cleaning products- that he had spiked with Bulbadox powder and stink pellets. If anyone questioned him, he was just using this room to clean his broom for his upcoming Quidditch games. Good thing he was made seeker this term, eh?
