Not since he had Abey had happened to be in the music room at the same time with their guitars and had performed a light duet before easily distracting themselves with one another otherwise. Though that...seemed like forever ago. Otherwise he and his guitar were reserved to only orchestra time with the Charms professor.
"Just looking for a bit of fresh air," he said with a big of a defeated shrug. Fresh air and avoiding being inside the castle. A lot of recent events weighing heavily on the sixteen year old's mind. Holy harpies was he relived that OWLs had been LAST term, inferi aside. "I've got an appointment with Professor Noble later and then...detention with Professor Fletcher..."
Which, well, he reckoned explained why he needed the fresh air. The slytherin laughed, her fingers reaching up to brush back her straying curls (no thank you, wind). "Let me know when, I'll drag Mairwen along with it and we can make it a trio." Was that actually... Sort of... an appealing idea? Not just for the juxtaposition of Derf's crup-like nature and Mairwen's serene attitude - which might have proved hilarious - but for the sheer... Frivolity of it all. She'd been joking, yes, but now the offer felt cemented, warm and weighed down and Julie allowed a soft smile to grace her rosy lips.
which was knocked right off a second later.
Julie could have been knocked over with a feather. Derfael? Detention? The two words together, although alliterated, made no sense, and her complete shock shone brighter on her face then the mid-day sun on the black lake. "What?" She managed eloquently, her mouth remaining open despite the lack of sound coming from it. Fletcher- Fletcher- what did he teach again? Most likely a class Julie didn't attend for her own experience with the man had so far (thankfully, it seemed) been restricted to random encounters and the daily S. O. R. E. "For what, even? being too understanding?" That was a joke, but there was a fair amount of truth in it- for Julie couldn't think up a single reason why-
Oh wait. Jessa. Zoryn. Abra. It was not actually impossible that her fair friend had been pulled into something by any one of the three which hadn't set well with the new professor's sensitive sensibilities.
