She already had her wand at the ready and stood in what she deemed to be a good position; not TOO close to the tree since she didn't have any food in her hands to offer, but also not too far away. Now all she had to do was wait...

Things weren't picking up just YET, but with all that tempting food, one should come at any moment now?

Maybe?

Another smile was sent at Abra, as well as a thumbs up. Third time WAS the charm, and indeed after a little while more waiting, it seemed that one had taken the bait and was eating out of the palm of his hand. "Awesome!" And there still seemed to be a decent amount of time left because Professor Wayland hadn't told them to wrap things up.

With a nod, Madison made her way over to the tree, trying to catch a glimpse of the bowtruckles as she did so. She wasn't all that familiar with them, though she had seen them before. She had never fed one, but she figured she could always do that later if she wanted... At the moment she was more focused on finding a good branch to cut for wand wood. Professor Wayland had said that it needed to be about 2 inches by at least 12 inches, so she was scanning for anything that would fit with that, finally settling on one that wasn't too high up.

Reaching on her tiptoes, she grabbed a hand of the branch and held it steady while with her other she proceeded to sever the branch from the tree using Diffindo. It was a little bit too long, so she used another Diffindo so that it was about 12.5 inches long give or take.

The wood was held up in triumph. Now the bowtruckle just needed to be returned to its branch and the piece of wood placed in the container near the barn. They had done good!
While Madison was harvesting the wood from the tree, Abra made sure not to move too far away from it. Even with the lure of food keeping their bowtruckle occupied, he wasn't sure how it would react to being taken too far away; sure, their eyes were protected, but those fingers looked like they could deliver a good set of scratches if they so desired.

Abra kept one eye on Madison's progress as she worked on the tree, but mostly focused on keeping the bowtruckle satisfied. When the number of woodlice in his hand started to dwindle, he opened up the jar he still held and retrieved a couple of fairy eggs, and offered them up to the creature. It was sure to be filling its tiny little stomach reasonably well.

Upon seeing that Madison was finished, Abra shuffled a little closer to the branch again. Initially, his thoughts were that he didn't want to keep the bowtruckle away from its tree for any longer than absolutely necessary. But then another thought occurred to him; the creature seemed happy enough to sit there in his hand, munching away. Abra looked towards Madison. "Did you want to give it a fairy egg or two before we return to to the tree?" he asked, holding out the jar with his non-bowtruckle-occupied hand.
