Already having Maddie there with her was a relief. "Did you want to partner up?" She asked anyway, just in case the Gryffindor had other plans. Even though Professor Baldvinsson had said they wouldn't be practicing the rest bit, she still felt like this lesson already felt more restful than most of the other stuff happening around the Castle. But practicing the Ice, Compression, and Elevation would be easy. Especially because two of them were spells, and the other was wrapping the bandage. Easy. Although she supposed the trick was knowing how tight to do it. She didn't want Maddie's arm, or leg, to go white, then purple, then fall off. But if this were a real injury, she also wouldn't want what was essentially a loose-fitted sock or glove.
Having not performed the freezing spell much at all, she figured she should practice that at least. Wingardium Leviosa was so engrained into her memory that she didn't feel the need to practice that. Getting her wand out, and pointing it towards the ground, she cast "GLAY-see-us," and saw as something that looked like frozen air blew out of her wand and onto the ground. The grass that was directly where her wand was pointed to seemed to frost over. "Neat," she said. "Hey, perhaps we could freeze the fudge, and that would keep it from getting stale," she said to Maddie. You know, let it return to normal temperature before they wanted to eat it.
She watched as Professor Baldvinsson healed up Professor Noble, and grinned. She could see what Professor Noble was talking about with the sling. And was also somewhat glad he would be coming around to check on the compression bandaging. Lest they actually compress and cut off circulation. RICE? Madison had never heard of that before, but she was definitely somewhat familiar with its components. The basics were there, but she hadn't known everything, so of course she did make sure to note it all down in more detail. It seemed simple enough to remember and something that would continue to be handy in the future, especially if she did end up trying out for Quidditch next term. She was still on the fence about that.
Her attention was diverted by Hanna. "Oh, yes. Of course." She smiled. It would be perfect working together, and she was confident that they would have no problems with the activity; how hard would it be to work with two spells and a compression bandage? Fortunately Professor Noble would be checking their work just in case they did the sling wrong. "That's a perfect idea! I can't believe that I never thought about freezing fudge." Then again it wasn't a spell that she had cause to use very often. Madison just hadn't seen the point in it.
Watching Professor Noble being 'healed', she smiled. This really didn't seem TOO difficult. With her wand, she pointed it at a random spot on the grass. "Glacius." The area that she had pointed at became frozen. At least she knew that she hadn't lost touch with this spell. As far as Wingardium Leviosa was concerned, she could do that in her sleep. |
