Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight Hold on. The desktop? But it looked nothing like a desk. How did muggles not get confused between actual desktops and computer ones? His expression nonplussed, Abra took in what the 'desktop' looked like, calling back vague memories of the one and only other time he had been at a computer. Then, they had been at this stage for approximately 0.287372 seconds before moving on, and Abra could see why. The 'desktop' was... not interesting.
When the next set of instructions were given, Abra just sort of... sat there for a moment. Okay... 'chrome icon' first. That was easy to locate, as there wasn't exactly much to look through in order to find it. Then Abra took hold of the mouse - funny name for it, really, it didn't look anything like a mouse - and moved it to point at the right icon. Sort of. There was a bit of acclimatising required first as it initially took him a moment to locate the arrow on the screen, and then found it moved a LOT faster than he had been expecting it to. Once he had got to grips with it, he manoeuvred the arrow to the chrome icon and clicked it twice.
... Nothing. Errr.
Abra took a quick glance around the room to see how everyone else had managed this step, and if he was missing anything. Some others were clicking a whole lot more than twice, so he decided that was what he would do. Turning his attention back to the screen, and leaning maybe a little closer than he needed to, he used the mouse to make the arrow hover over the chrome icon again and-- "AgH!" Maybe he was of the wrong disposition for using computers. All of a sudden the screen had flashed white and caused Abra to jolt in surprise and quickly fling himself back away from the machine, only just managing to stay in his seat... only to find that all that had happened was that the screen had changed. He supposed this was the 'page' Professor Stewart had mentioned (though there wasn't a single book in sight). Uhhhh, anyway. Ahem. "I'm fine. I'm fine." He was fine.
So this was a Google then? Interesting...?
On Professor Stewart's say-so, Abra moved the mouse again and clicked inside that long rectangle, squinting at the small flashing line that appeared there once he had done so. The professor hadn't mentioned anything about flashing lines; had he managed to break it already? He couldn't remember for his life of him whether this had happened all those years ago at his friends' computer.
Deciding to just... pretend that the flashing line wasn't happening, Abra tried to think of a topic to research, but his mind had gone completely blank. It was a while before his thoughts strayed to where they usually did when his mind wandered or looked for a distraction.
Looking down at the keyboard, Abra began to slowly and painstakingly type - using the index finger on each hand only - 'C-U-T-E-C-A-T-S'. Space bar? Don't know her.
