Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight After the practical demonstration from the professor, Abra got what he needed from the back of the greenhouse, returned to his own workspace and set his sights back on the Tentacula he was working on. So. Leaves first. That was easy; five years of Herbology classes meant Abra had used the Trimming Charm plenty of times before. He supposed the main difficulty here was to do so whilst avoiding the vines and making sure the plant held still, because, you know, it was still moving around just a bit. And he would be opting for the Trimming Charm, because the Severing Charm always seemed a little brutal for trimming purposes. "Flipnsnipwitit," Abra said, pointing his wand at some of the more bushy areas of leaves on his Tentacula, before having to quickly jerk his hand back before the plant could grab hold of his wand. A little more wary the next few times, he continued the spell again, and again, doing the best job he could at trimming those extra leaves down but never exactly lingering too close to the plant. Yes, it had been devenomed, yes, it had eaten itself into sedation, but those vines were still moving - though not nearly as energetically as before it had been fed - and seemed to be very interested in his wand and, as this was his second one, he had no intention of surrendering it.
With that done, it was time for the without a doubt trickier operation of extracting the juices, which was about as pleasant as it had sounded. Stowing his wand safely away again, Abra did exactly as he had seen Professor Wishart do - except maybe a touch more gingerly. He lifted the Tentacula up out of its pot, all the while leaning his whole upper body back and as far from those vines as he could get, and held it over a bowl. Uncertainly at first, as though he was not quite sure he was doing this entirely right, he began to squeeze the Tentacula. Instantly, the juice started to flow, and Abra had to quickly readjust his hold on the plant so that he got the fluid into the bowl. Satisfied that he was apparently doing it right, Abra squeezed a little more firmly until he was relatively certain that all the juice was out.
Leaving the bowl to one side for the moment, Abra returned the Tentacula to its pot and moved some of the soil around to pack it on top of the roots. When it was all in and secure, he went back to the bowl of juice and worked on funnelling it into a vial. All of it. The whole juicy lot. That done, he quickly scribbled out a barely-legible label and stuck it to the vial: Abra Botros, Grifindor.
Now that he was all finished up, Abra had just enough time to tend to his Tentacula's other needs. He collected some fertiliser - very glad for the thickness of the gloves he was wearing - and deposited it on top of the soil the plant was sitting in, before getting his wand out again and watering it with, "Aguamenti."
There. Done. The plant was milked juiced and otherwise tended to, and Abra had a labelled vial of plant fluid all ready to hand in. With one eye on the professor, he settled into his seat and cleared up the workspace as best he could.
