Sweat was rolling down her face as she swallowed hard to catch her breath. " I know, crazy and completely stupid!" she said growling under her breath in anger.

Seeing Lucas fall her eyes widened as she stopped running. That had to hurt, it looked really painful for both of them. " Are you ok Lucas?" she asked him helping him up. Looking at Mark she bit her lip. "Hey are you ok? that looked like quite the hit." she said.

He wasn't at all used to it, but he didn't dare stop. Nobody could say that he didn't try, and it wasn't like he had a very good reason to not give it a go, not like Jessa did.

Around him, people were striking up conversations as they ran, but Abra found himself silently pleading that nobody tried to talk to him. He could only imagine that it would make breathing more difficult than it already was, which would make running more difficult, which would mean he'd need to slow down and walk, which would prolong this entire predicament and might even make him miss breakfast.

How long had he been running for? It was hard to tell, but it already felt like forever, and Abra had barely completed one lap. His lungs were searing uncomfortably, though the rest of his body was actually starting to warm up a bit, and he could hardly imagine completing that same distance a whole five more- woahhhhhkay. First year down!

Not too far away from him, Abra spotted Lucas hit the deck, and he automatically went straight over to where he and some other first years were gathered. He just... wanted to check the kid was okay and admittedly it did give him a chance to recover for a moment.

"Lucas? ... You okay?" Abra asked his young housemate between great breaths, crouching down to one knee and hoping against hope that Scrimgeour wouldn't start barking at Lucas for taking too long to get back up or something, all the while figuring that it was only a matter of time until they were all ordered to start running again. "Can you... are you okay to... get up?" Anything broken??? Abra looked up at Stella and the other boy nearby. "You two okay?" The boy was rubbing his nose and Stella looked like she was struggling to breathe much worse than Abra was, so it seemed a reasonable question.

She didn't want to get in trouble and lose Gryffindor points, she didn't want to do that at all not wheb she was trying to help them win the house cup. She felt like she was going to faint at any moment. 'Keep it together Stella!' she thought to herself.

Last thing they needed was the Headmaster to bark orders telling them to get up. Stella wasn't the type of person who left someone down when they were hurt, it wasn't who she was. Maybe it was her Hufflepuff side that was showing or so that was part of her mother, she didn't know but she always been like this. She was helping a friend, surely the Headmaster could understand that right? Who was she kidding? This was Mr. Stone face beady eye, he probably didn't have any friends! Ok...that was a bit mean, but probably true though.

He looked over to the girl and then to an Older Boy no one else had stopped to check on the collision so Mark figured he must be a Prefect. "He took a much worse spill than I did. I think I'm okay? Is Luke okay?" He wiped his arm under his nose and saw some blood streaked across his forearm. Not a lot but enough to say maybe he did get hit pretty hard. He sniffled and then swallowed down a taste of iron moving down his throat. "Is my nose bleeding?" He touched his nose and pinched it. Doesn't feel broken. A bloody nose wasn't bad. He looked back down to Lucas again. He did tumbles and rolls so...impressive but ow.[/COLOR]

This was embarrassing.

This was so so embarrassing.

Lucas lay there, not because he couldn't move but because maybe, if he lay still enough, the ground could swallow him up whole and he wouldn't have to deal with...... this. But as much as he wanted to, he couldn't just dig his face into the ground and hide. Not when another voice joined Stella's and he recognised exactly whose it was.

Could he hide? Can this be over with already?

Although...... would you hear that? Prefect Abra Botros knew his name!

Right. Yeah. Focus. "Yeah, I'm-" His muffled voice broke off as he spluttered out the bit of dirt in his mouth. "I'm okay." He was strong, yeah? That's what Gryffindors were meant to be, right? "Yeah, I can..... up.... get up....." His voice trailed off as he first tried to push his knees up and then, using Stella - sorry, Stella - pushed himself up into a sitting position. "Great way to start the year, eh?" He gave a sheepish smile to Abra and Stella and....

Oh. "Hey, Mark. What's wrong with your nose?" His own face was probably covered in dirt but Mark looked a lot worse.
