you wanna fite? | 💚 nickleback 💚 | Uh, anyway. Her table was quiet. Many of her former contemporaries were gone, off to University and into the big and bad world to seek their dreams and here she was. Back at the beginning it felt, except without all the luster and warmth she had once carried. Julie Bellaire sat by the front of the table nearest the Staff Dias with her chin resting in her palm and her bright eyes as glazed as a doughnut. Things were happening and she was vaguely aware - first of Hirsch's seat being empty, and second of a strong willed-but strange pair who climbed the Dias without introduction, and third of Regina Hawthorne quietly leaving.
A strange, turbulent turn of events.
Julie barely stirred through it all, fighting internally with the clawing hot licks of anxiety in her belly. She dreaded the Common Room, and it was all Julie could focus on no matter how many breathing exercises or thought experiments she tried. Was this how Jessa always felt? It was no wonder she preferred refuge. Julie shifted ever so slightly, turned to her goblet and tapped it thrice until the water within turned steaming hot. She took some lemon and squeezed it in, forcing herself to think of Hawthorne's ejection and whatever the ex-auror-now-headmaster had said.
Hogwarts. Former Glory. She didn't know whether to be glad or furious. Regina - No, the school had failed them last term and many times before now that she had sat down and really thought on it. The Ministry believed it could tackle the problem head on, and abruptly with just a change of head staff when so much more was needed to ensure... what? exactly? their safety? Or was it just to appease the anger...
Julie sighed, her lips a straight and dramatic line as she dropped her lemon into the hot water with a quiet pop. Maybe she'd sleep in the room of requirement tonight.
