Mentions of Abra, Sir Nicholas and Stas Little Fox | ½ of Lauralie | Ravenclaw with a Hufflepuff heart and a Gryffindor soul | #HouseNATARIANA As soon as Tessa Roberts entered the Great Hall, she began social butterflying about the place. She lost track of her best friend, Soraya, her boyfriend, Alfie, and Tempest, but that was fiiiiiiine because she'd spent pretty much the entire train ride here with them. Her younger sister, Ellie, would probably be busy chatting away to her friends alrea- oh, wait, no. A glance at the Hufflepuff table told her that her sister was actually napping. No surprises there. And her brother, Levi, would be with the other first years, waiting to be sorted. Now was the time to say hi to people she hadn't seen since before summer in forever.
Tessa was in very good spirits today and it felt like nothing could ruin it. Downpour of rain? No way. The fact she was in her F-I-F-T-H year, which meant OWLs? Nah. The constant threat of chaos, danger and destruction that came with going to Hogwarts? Never. It did, however, look like not everyone was feeling the same way she was today. Looking around, she could see some rather glum faces. Or, at least, that's what she thought they looked like. She wasn't always the best at picking up on emotional cues....
...Anyway, back to social butterflying!!
She meandered down the table of Gryffindors, stopping occasionally to chat to people.
At some point, she spotted a shiny Prefect badge and looked up to see Abra wearing it, which confused her. Wasn't he Quidditch Captain? Did that mean he had given that up to become Prefect??? This made no sense to Tessa, who thought that being Quidditch Captain would be infinitely cooler and much more fun than being Prefect. Nevertheless, she went over to congratulate him. "Hey! Congrats on getting Prefect!!" She grinned. "Shame you're not still Captain, though. I was thinking about trying out this year." For reasons. Fun being the main one with a bit of #YOLO thrown in. OWLs were going to be super boring and Quidditch could be fun. Do you see where she was going with that thought? ......Who actually was Captain now? She didn't think she'd seen the badge anywhere.
A little further down the table she stopped to greet Gryffindor's ghost. "Hi, Sir Nicholas!!" She called him that because she knew he preferred it and she wasn't a rude person. So. Oh! ...Standing not too far away was Stas, her dormmate. Tessa waved enthusiastically and called over to her. "Stas!!" She was probably busy Prefecting but Tessa knew she would appreciate the greeting all the same. "How was your summer??" A bit of small talk wouldn't hurt. They could catch up properly later.
