Jó wasn’t exactly thrilled about entering the Great Hall soaking wet and the scowl on his face said just as much. One hand remained in his pocket, fingers closed around the Slytherin Prefect Badge he’d been wearing only hours previously - something about the train journey had decided that it was probably best he didn’t flaunt it in front of the other first years. At least not straight away.
His foot tapped impatiently as he waited for his name to be called, eyes scanning the room. Were they really not allowed to talk whilst all of this was going on? He’d practically swam across the lake and now he was expected to stand around BORED whilst he just dripped onto the floor?
APPARENTLY SO.
Annoyed wasn’t the word, and he practically ran up to the stool when his name was eventually called, ready to be put into Slytherin straight away. Slytherin. The house he BELONGED to. The house that was MADE for him.
Except the hat had barely touched his head when

There was NO WAY this was happening.
Józef remained firmly fixed to the stool, eyes wide and staring up at the hat that had been whisked away from his head almost as soon as it had shouted out THE WRONG HOUSE. He belonged in Slytherin. This was not okay. This was WRONG on every single level ever.
And so he sat there and waited, waited for someone to tell him that something had gone wrong.
Except they didn’t. They just ushered him off the dias and towards the clapping table.
