Abra was not in the best of moods, truth be told. That had been one stressful train journey that had been marked by disagreements, upset students, and general heightened anxiety, and Abra was hoping that it wasn't an omen for how the rest of the term was going to go. Added to that, it was raining - positively pouring down - and he was soaked through from the little time he had spent between the train and the carriages, and the carriages and the castle. Merlin only knew how the first years had managed out on the lake.
With a slightly disgruntled expression on his face, Abra entered the Great Hall and headed for the Gryffindor table, giving the staff table at the top of the Hall a cursory look as he did so. He made a mental note of the new faces he could see, but didn't stare at the professors for long enough to really take note of who was missing. Instead, he took his seat and waited for the rest of the Gryffindor table to fill up.
Okay. So. Now he really had to try his very hardest to shed his bad mood, given that he had to do his part in welcoming the new additions to Gryffindor. With that in mind, Abra hitched a more pleasant expression onto his face - Acting™: activated - and settled in to watch the Sorting. There was very little he could do about his slightly red eyes though, and he resolved to tell anyone that asked that his contacts were bothering him today, which wasn't a total lie.
