"I'm Alfdis," she said, figuring she'd use her given name first, since the girl was icelandic (why else would you learn Icelandic given it was only spoken in a country of 400,000 in 2090?), "but I go by Dizzy."
As they reached the stairs and started to climb, Dizzy took a deep breath and held it. Then realized she had more she was curious to know about the girl and let the breath out before they'd even reached the second floor. "Do you go to Hogwarts?"
Thankfully, the air was pretty much clear here, by the stairs. For now at least, but if that guy was still up here... "Um, where do we start looking?" The wince hadn’t gone unnoticed. Nor had Stasya felt the need to point it out, as she had honestly taken the younger girl’s warning to heart. It just wasn’t like she could really do much about it since she still couldn’t do magic outside of school legally. There was a little over a year before then. A year and about three months, to be exact, but if she had been able to, she would’ve said they could either try to summon the books or just cast bubblehead charms on themselves so the alleged stinky man wouldn’t be a problem. Besides, if they were lucky, he wouldn’t be near the shelves they needed to look at. Hopefully. There wasn’t anything else she could really do, so she’d started walking up the stairs when she heard the girl speak again. “Well, it’s nice to meet you Dizzy,” she said with a smile. “I’m Anastasiya, although most people call me Stasya.” Some variation of that, anyway. “I do,” she confirmed, as they’d continued heading to the second floor. “I’ll be a fifth year this term.” She didn’t think she needed to add the prefect part, or the Gryffindor part. Especially since she’d just met the other girl and she didn’t know if it would scare her. Besides, it would be obvious soon enough.
Plus, so far she didn’t smell anything. Either the guy had left or hadn’t really been there. She was willing to give the benefit of the doubt, but she’d stay vigilant too. “Mm, I think this way,” she said, turning to the left and starting to head toward a row of shelves. She really hoped they wouldn’t need bubblehead charms.
