Ya know, if it was such a good book and all.
Penny knew no strangers when it came to books.
And the smile actually did help some, her book tipping a bit lower still. AND he liked fantasy novels?! COOL! "Good to meet ya, too, Patrick!" she said, her Irish lilt heavy as she extended one hand shake his... if he wanted to. This was the awkward part of meeting people, wasn't it?
He smiled wide, she had put her hand out to shake, and that was a step in the right direction. He grabbed the girl’s hand and shook it. He was trying to make sure that he didn’t grip her too hard or too light. He took note that she had a cat, he wondered if he took it with her to school.
“Do you take her to school with you?” he didn’t have any animals. He was seriously considering getting an Owl for the term, he’d love to take a dog with him but that obviously wasn’t allowed.
She wanted to borrow his book? He was amazed not many of his friends would want to do that.
“Sure, I’ll bring it to Hogwarts, we could meet up sometime and I could give it to you.” He shrugged hoping she would realize that he totally didn’t mind sharing books. He seriously liked having someone who loved books as much as he did to talk to.
