Although I just finished Fahrenheit 451 the other day, my friends back home were reading it for their summer reading so figured I might as well too.”

He tried to read her expression but that book was blocking her, he smiled a bit to relax her but wasn’t sure he would be able to. “Fantasy novels are pretty cool.” he heard her name, Penny, that’s right he knew he had heard her name around school. “Good to actually meet you Penny.” He wasn’t exactly sure what to say, but he figured just keeping the conversation going would ease the girls shyness.
"My cat is called Cassiopeia," she added quietly as he mentioned Greek mythology. Yeah, she dug that, too! "Back home?" she inquired, her book slipping a little lower, her eyes searching his face. She knew his accent wasn't one she from around these parts, but then again she didn't pretend to know ALL ACCENTS EVER, ya know! "Do you think... do you think I could read your copy sometime?" Ya know, if it was such a good book and all.

Penny knew no strangers when it came to books.

And the smile actually did help some, her book tipping a bit lower still. AND he liked fantasy novels?! COOL! "Good to meet ya, too, Patrick!" she said, her Irish lilt heavy as she extended one hand shake his... if he wanted to. This was the awkward part of meeting people, wasn't it?
