Kay didn't know but she could sense that Lyn certainly wanted to speak her mind. She nodded. "That's alright. I'll be more than happy to lend an ear. I'll try to help as best as I can.'' There was an encouraging smile on her face. "Would you like a cup of tea? Juice? Cookies?''

Oh no.

Had her question brought about doubts in Lyn's mind. "I understand if you feel a lot more comfortable talking to me,'' Kaysha amended hastily. "I know that you and I have bonded over the Muggle world and it would be easier for you to get certain things out in the open with someone you are more comfortable and familiar with.''
Tea. Tea was soothing. Probably a good idea to have some tea. "Oh, yes, tea would be lovely. Thank you." Her response was almost an out of body experience. Like she was watching the 'has it all together' Emmalyn while the 'utterly failing' Emmalyn waited her turn to speak.

Crazy eyed, full of panic Emmalyn took back over. "Okay. Thank you. Yes, more comfortable." Her fingers went back to twirling her hair. "I'm failing Hogwarts. Like, all of it." Her voice trembled "Most of the first years are preforming spells that I haven't even attempted because I can't seem to do the easy ones." She unconsciously felt for her wand. "My potions all turn out wrong, and I can't tell a Isa rune from a Eihwaz." She took a deep breath and continued "I keep studying and studying, but I don't seem to be getting any better. At least not enough to keep up with the rest of the class. I don't know what to do."

Her eyes locked on Professor Stewart, hoping beyond hope that she would have an answer for her, even though she had no idea what that answer could be. Had they made a mistake? Should she not even be a Hogwarts? Maybe she was a squib? No, that would have meant her parents were magical, and they were only Muggles. Maybe there really was something wrong with her magically. She had been one of the students, chanting in the street last spring. Even though she couldn't remember how she got there or what was said, she did remember suddenly being aware and all of the students and professors shouting to get to a port key. She had so easily been taken control of.
