Default Astronomy Long Term Assignment - Observation Two
Sarah thinks I'm cute | Shan's safe space.

The long term Astronomy Assignment was getting to Felicity. On top of her NEWT prep and the stress it brought, the fact that she hadn't completed it when Astronomy was usually one of her best, and always one of her favourite, subjects was proving pretty aggravating.

Of course, she could spend as many nights awake as possible, but she couldn't control when the lights would be visible, and she had to keep reminding herself of that.

The worrying had done one good thing for the seventh year, though - it had given her this idea. She might not be able to control the lights, but there was somewhere where they appeared every evening. And a magical replica of the lights was better than nothing, she figured, which was why she had bundled her coat on, and armed with warming charms was headed to the Igloo.

She was happy to see that it was fairly empty, too, and took a space in the corner, pulling her parchment out in order to jot some notes.

After she'd spent a good half an hour enthralled by the sight, that was. It was hypnotising, and Felicity was definitely adding travelling to Iceland or somewhere to her list of things to do. She'd heard that you could sleep in cabins with glass roofs beneath the sight, and practically sighed at the thought of how romantic it was.

Pulling her gaze away from the greens and purples, she added to her notes.

SPOILER!!: The Aurora Borealis

Aurora Borealis
Derived from Aurora, the Roman Goddess of Dawn, and Boreas, Greek for 'north wind'.

Caused by charged particles entering the upper atmosphere of the Earth, along magnetic field lines, with energy provided by solar winds.

Visibility in Scotland: primarily in autumn and winter, during the early hours of the morning. (NOT to be confused with the sunrise).

The replica lights present in the Igloo are a vibrant green and purple, with some pink entering in waves.
