Tristan called out with a smile to the seventh year. He couldn't believe she was a seventh year already. Just a few more months and she would be graduating. A bittersweet moment indeed. He was sure she would do great things. Quote:

He knew Ash was going to get some attention. Even though the students had seen him many times, Ash would always be a novelty. He was such a rare and majestic bird it was hard not to be in awe of him every time you saw him. Quote:

The earthy richness of the ground mixed with last seasons hay sent pictures of her grandmothers farm streaming though her mind. "Good afternoon, Emmalyn! It sure is! I am! I hope you are too!" Tristan called back to her with a grin. He was glad the students were noticing the perfect weather. It was absolutely gorgeous out. Quote:

That it is!" Tristan said with a wink and a smile. He couldn't wait to get this lesson started. It really was a perfect day for it! Quote:

"Good day to you, Professor. Can I say hi to Ash?" "Good day, Chloe!" Tristan turned to look up at the scarlet bird, "I don't think he will come down to you. He's been in a bit of a paranoid mood lately. Very protective. But I am sure if you call out to him he will at least give you a nod or maybe even a little song." It was strange the way Ash was acting. It had only happened one other time...but he didn't like to think about that. Quote:

"Good day, Professor" smiling as he greeted his teacher.
He made his way to find a seat. So many hay bales around. Will they be learning about horses, perhaps? Or something of the like. "Good Day, Caleb!" Tristan said with a smile. He took a quick sip of his Chai tea, leaning back in his hay bale recliner. Such a lovely day... Quote:
Originally Posted by Bazinga COMC was a fun class and Chloe enjoyed the animals, the other great part was there weren't many spells to learn so she didn't have to feel dumb when they didn't work right away. All smiles she headed to the barn and found the usual seating. "Hello Professor" a cheerful smile and wave came from the now twelve year old before she looked around. "Hello, Chloe!" Tristan gave her a wave and a big grin. Two Chloe's in one class was difficult, but at least he didn't have a million Ariel's like that one time when he taught a seminar on the mating rituals of Merpeople. Two Chloe's was a piece of cake compared to that! Quote:

He checked his watch; just a few more minutes until the suspense was over. Quote:
Originally Posted by SilverTiger The sight of the professor on his hay bale recliner only put a grin on her face. That was another expected thing. The haybales, anyway, although the chair configuration had changed nearly every lesson. “Good afternoon, Professor Wayland,” she said, heading to an open haybale to settle on. Plus… “Hi Ash!,” she added, giving a smile and a little nod toward the phoenix perched on the roof. She doubted they’d be learning about phoenixes again, but she hadn’t seen any obvious hints as to what they were going to be discussing, either. "Good afternoon, Stasya." Tristan said as the Prefect made her way to her seat. When she addressed Ash, he made sure to pay attention to his actions. He watched as the bird turned his head to get a better look at her, flapped his golden wings, and coo'ed a little song of encouragement. He smiled at the great bird. Despite his current mood, he was still great with the students. Quote:

You’d think that with her mind now up and active this would be easy but the restlessness was its own and remained separate. As you could imagine, it left a rather odd feeling stirring around inside her. One she wasn’t sure she’d be able to explain even if she tried. "Hello, Jessa." He was about to comment on how tired she looked, but figured he better not ask. Jessa kept herself busy with all sorts of experiments, on top of school work and her Prefect duties. He was sure she was exhausted. Unless there was something else going on....he may have to have a chat with her later. Quote:

So with a small nod toward the Professor, and a quiet "hello", she went to have a seat. "Hello, Skylar." Tristan said with a small smile. She was very quiet today and amazingly not commenting on his chair. Thank Merlin for that! it was definitely an improvement that made him happy. Though, he hoped it wasn't because she was upset about something. You never know with teenagers. Quote:

Tristan called out with a smile and a wave. He checked his watch impatiently. It was getting closer to time, but he still had a few stragglers making their way. It was a long trek from the castle to the barn. Quote:

"Good day to you too, Ash!" he greeted the phoenix...with a bit more gusto than he had the professor. Sorry, sir. Bit of a bias here. Once you were able to produce healing tears, fly, carry insanely large loads, and be reborn from fire...then, well, you know.
Surely Ash was a hint as to what today's lesson would be about, yes? YES?! "Hello, Derfael!" Tristan called out with a wave, grinning as the young prefect spoke to Ash. This time Ash just coo'ed a comforting song, then quickly went back to scouting from the top of the barn. He was really going to have to figure out what was causing Ash to be like this. Quote:
Originally Posted by Holmesian Feline “Good day, Professor Wayland,” he greeted the man as he made his way to an open spot on the haybale half-circle. The professor's phoenix quite noticable upon the roof of the barn. "Good day, Septimus!" Tristan called out with a smile. He checked his watch, and checked to see if anyone else was coming from the barns. With a grin on his face he took a quick sip of his Chai and stood up. It was finally time to start the lesson! Tristan hopped up, and with a flick of his wand, his hay bale chair dismantled itself and rolled away towards the barn, placing themselves in a neat row against the wall. "Welcome back to Care of Magical Creatures everyone! It is a glorious day to be outside and enjoying this spring weather!" Yes, he was a little too excited about the weather. Okay...he knew. But it had been a long cold winter and he was really excited for the sunshine. "Before I reveal today's creature, I have a question for you." He paused for dramatic affect.
He also paused to remember what the question was; he was overly excited for today's creature!! Plus, he wanted to make sure he had every eye on him before asking. "What creatures, preferably magical, live in water? Please, only one per student, and also give me one fact that you know about the creature you chose to share with us." He paced around in front of the class waiting for students hands to shoot up in the air. OOC: So sorry for the lateness today! Just very busy and lost track of time! Thank you all so much for coming! I appreciate you! As stated one creature per student and try to have different answers so we can get a variety. It doesn't have to be magical but it is preferred. You have 24 hours!
