All that gushy romantic stuff made him want to barf, and even if that was his style, the only girl he was interested in was dating some other guy, last he heard.

He sat at a table in the back of the Three Broomsticks far away from any lovey dovey couples who might come in here, an untouched butterbeer sitting on the table and his Ancient Runes textbook open in front of him. Now he had to study even harder if he was going to get into a good university, since a quidditch scholarship was looking out of the question at this point.
Confused. Hurt. Alone.

Those were all things that Skylar was feeling and while she supposedly had her friends, the two people she wanted to talk to most, she couldn't find the words to do so and thus felt even more isolated. She didn't understand why any of this was happening, which of course, made focusing on quidditch and NEWTs that much more difficult. Last year she had made it quite known that she didn't have interest in Valentine's Day because it resurfaced feelings of her first love, but this year was vowed to be different. She had closure with Brent on the train home last year, she and Apollo were in a good place. Or so she thought. But apparently, she thought wrong, because he didn't want her. She'd given him everything and then he just threw it all away and she had no idea why.

Cue entering the three broomsticks, which seemed like the wrong place for someone who'd been craving to spend time alone. But maybe it was because of her forced isolation that she wanted to observe people... and maybe it was because of her confused state that she sought out the corner, after ordering a butterbeer. Fiyero. Nice safe Gryffindor guy. He wouldn't ask questions. Hopefully.

"May I?" she asked softly, noting the textbook before him. "How's your studying going?" She nodded subtly at the text. Although if he didn't want to talk, she'd be okay with that, even if her thoughts were a rather dark place right now.
