Emmalyn got a HUGE grin and grateful look, which was also bestowed on the professor. He was a fussy dear thing, wasn't he? Chloe took the castor oil back to her cauldron and glugged it once before returning the bottle for someone else to use.
The swirling was fun, though, and Chloe gave her oil a few extra swirls, mostly for fun but also to ensure the cauldron was completely coated before they began. She gave it a long look before setting it back on the tripod, but it wasn't like she could tell anything at this point. Best just keep going, and dear fussbudget would let her know soon how she was doing. Chloe set a low fire and immediately added five teaspoons of beetle eyes. Weird to start with a dry ingredient, but that's what the oil was for.
And beetles! More beetles! All the bugs in this potion! Chloe added five to her mortar.
