Neptune was going to have his very own little cape to wear!

Gaston smiled, nodding as he overheard Rylee's words to Neptune. She was right; nothing was going to harm him as long as Phantom remained behind that door, and since the cat hadn't developed the ability to phase through walls, there was nothing to worry about. His eyes flicked toward the door as Phantom started meowing, not the angry meow from before but a happily demanding one. He jumped slightly as there was a loud thump at the door. He laughed. "I think Phantom's looking for treats," he said. To the black and whiter Persian, he said, "It won't be much longer, Phantom."

He waved his wand, and a couple of long ribbons shot out of its tip and wiggled under the door. "That should keep her busy while we talk," he said. The mention of dressing Phantom up made him laugh out loud. "Not very happy" was a huge understatement! "She'd claw me to shreds if I tried that, but it might be a risk I'm willing to take," he said. "She'd look too cute!" An idea just occurred to him. What if he gave her a black cape and a little fedora to match? Then she'd look like the literary character she was named for!

Gaston's face fell as he saw Rylee's smile falter, but just when he was sure she wouldn't like the idea he had, her smile was back. "Good!" he said with a smile of his own. "Let's get started, shall we?" He examined Rylee's cape. "The first thing to do is cut a couple of inches off the bottom of this cape; we can use a severing charm for this." With a wave of his wand, he summoned a few pieces of parchment from his office. "I'll show you with this; you can practice with the parchment first if you like. Then you can use it on the cape when you're ready."

He held up a square of parchment. "The wand movement for this spell is a V shape with a little tail at the end like this..." He demonstrated the wand movement. "Use the incantation 'Diffindo'..." He moved his wand in the v shape, aimed at the parchment, and repeated the incantation; the piece of parchment tore in half. He handed Rylee another scrap of parchment. "Here, you try it..."
