Hirsch, who'd been trying to figure out what this student had written in their essay, looked up at the door. There was, if possible, an even more confused look on his face as he stared at the door in front of him. He didn't have any meetings set up and no one who needed to hand in a piece of homework at the last minute - he hoped - so unless something mysterious had happened in the school, he didn't know why the person on the other side of the door was knocking so frantically.

On another thought, given the fact that this was Hogwarts, maybe something mysterious had happened in the school.

The man swapped his quill for his wand and gave it a flick in the direction of the door. "Come in!"
