The Corpse Flower!

Rylee practically wiggled in excitement, her blue eyes following Myers towards the flower/plant being spoken of. Seeing one up close and getting to experience it blooming was a real treat indeed! So much so that she clapped happily along with Myers as he introduced the plant. Yes, yes, she was just as excited as the professor about this. Truthfully flowers and plants in general got her excited but this was special... a rare treat as the man had said. These flowers bloomed only once every so many years, sometimes five or six years or sometimes even decades.

Smiling brightly which was hidden by the face mask, Rylee raised her hand. "The Corpse Flower is really a flowering plant like Emmalyn said, Professor. It consists of clusters of blooms the encircle the base of the spadix in two rings, one ring being 'female' flowers and the other ring being 'male' flowers. These flowers are protected by the spathe... which is a large frilly looking leaf."

All her research on flowers and plants was really paying off right now. She wasn't in to much need of taking notes at the very moment because she knew all that was being said already but this was all thanks to her love of the subject. Right now all her attention was on that gorgeous flower/plant.
