She ever so slightly smiled at the Headmistress's kind words. She really had tried her hardest and she knew she should be proud of her effort. More studying would be in store, but for the time being, she was ready to refocus on the lesson.

Her attention was pulled to the board as the correct bind runes appeared. They were working together and there was a reason for the runes chosen. After checking her notes, she decided to go with the hinge strap to try and figure out why the two were chosen.

She slowly raised her hand “Headmistress, I believe that Isa was used with Thurisaz because Isa stops a process, like the strap from being opened, and Thurisaz stands for harsh outside forces and clearing out a bad situation. So, both together would not only help keep the strap closed, they would be able to fight against someone or something trying to forcefully remove it.”

Eyes wide with surprise by her own words, Emmalyn wondered if that could possibly be a correct guess. It sounded like a fairly reasonable answer to her and at least she now knew the correct bind runes for the object.
