Max gave the Headmistress his full attention, chuffed to bits that he'd actually managed to suss out the correct runes. This part of the lesson was more his cup of tea though. At least this gave him the opportunity to stretch his imagination a little bit.
The Slytherin flicked through the textbook to check and double check the meanings behind Eihwaz and Hagalaz - the bind runes that had been on the gold pendant.
"Well...... I reckon this stuff belonged to viking pirates." Maxton said excitedly, raising his arm in the air. "The textbook says that Eihwaz means yew and that yew trees are linked to immortality and were used to make bow and arrows...." Basically a lot of awesome stuff.
"And Hagalaz' magical uses says it removes unwanted influences...?" He triple checked the textbook as he spoke and then looked back up with a grin. "So if this pendant was worn by a viking pirate I wouldn't wanna mess with them. They'd be like a super pirate warrior with super awesome battle strength to take out any enemies or bad guys."
...... and that was probably the most he'd ever spoken in class.
