SPOILER!!: Headmistress
Emmalyn was next, and the headmistress was rather impressed that the second year had taken a look at four out of the five bind rune options. The work, though, needed some tending to. Quality, not quantity, was what Regina cared about most. "Alright, Miss Walsh. There are a few things we need to fix. For your first object, the brooch, I would recommend working with Miss Amstern on that one." Since the fifth year was close to figuring that one out. "As for the arm ring, Algiz is definitely in there. For the latter two, Kenaz and Nauthiz are not present."
That was deflating. Staring at her notes, then back at the objects, she had no idea how she was supposed to figure out what runes were really there. She thought she had found the correct ones only to be told she hadn't.
"Thank you, Headmistress. I'll try again."
Back to the beginning she went. All of the symbols were too jumbled together for her to be able to see what they were made of. Her eyes kept going back and forth between her textbook and the runes, only feeling more lost the longer she looked.

She scribbled over the incorrect runes and noted next to each object that it was incorrect. Her heart sank further when she noticed just how little time she had left to try and figure them out.
Emmalyn wasn't normally one to give up, but she was exhausted and the days lesson simply was more than she was able to deal with. She could feel the heat rising up and spreading across her face. The tears were so close to spilling over that even a slight movement of her head or a blink would send them trailing down her face. Determined to not cry in class, she sat her pen down and stared blankly at her desk, wishing the day to be over.
