Anyway, Ronan got up with his notebook, pen and textbook in hand and walked to the armband first. He thought that, as a seventh year, he would be expected to study the more complicated looking bind runes. And boy, did they look complicated. A part of him wished that the runes could be in 3D so that he could look at them from all angles. Alas, he didn't think that was possible, even with magic.

Once he thought he had the armband figured out, he moved on to the brooch-looking thing. Man, it seemed more complicated than the other! Or, it did at first, anyway. Once he started looking closer, however, two runes jumped out at him. Jotting them down quickly, he went to studying the third. Once he thought he had it, he wrote it down too and returned to his seat to study his notes a little more closely.
