The snow was definitely tempting, especially since Stasya knew that both her pets liked playing in it, and there were plenty of other creatures out in the barns that she’d just generally been keeping an eye on and it was going to be that much more complicated to get out there if she had to wait until after the Runes lesson. Not impossible by any means, just more complicated. However, she also knew better than to skive off Runes. Not when, somehow, it was one of her better subjects. Probably because it still reminded her a lot of things she’d seen because of her grandparents when she was younger, for the same reason she continued greeting Professor Baldvinsson in Icelandic during every Flying lesson. She did better in Runes than Flying, though.

She had finished off a scone from breakfast on her way up to the fifth floor, thankful for the stairs as the climb helped keep her warmer than she would’ve been otherwise, even if she did have an extra jumper in her bag for her trip out to the barns later. That and a few heating charms and she figured she’d be okay. Plus, she could always use a runestone if she needed to. First, her lesson, and she’d merely given the smallest amount of attention to the change in seat layout as she’d walked inside the Runes classroom. Odds were there was a reason, and she knew by now that they’d be given that information sooner or later. Just as they’d find out what was hidden on those tables. Headmistress Hawthorne knew what she was doing.

She’d given the headmistress a smile as she settled in an open seat, getting what she’d need out of her bag before she settled in. “Good morning, Headmistress Hawthorne.” Now to find out what they’d be learning today.
