Maddie was pretty excited about flying class. Ever since she'd made the Quidditch team, she'd had a newfound appreciation for flying. She'd always liked it, but now it meant more to her than just a means of transportation. Now it was a sport. She listened to the sound of her shoes crunching in the snow as she made her way to the pitch. Her parents had surprised her with a brand new broom when they found out she'd made the Quidditch team. Maddie clung tightly to the broom's handle as she approached the professor.

"Hello, Professor!" she said, noting that the man was hovering on his broom, which was actually a pretty good idea. She thought about doing so herself, but she decided against it since none of the other students were. So instead, she just hung around, waiting patiently for the others to show up.
