She could also wish her good luck this Quidditch season, but...wasn't this girl the competition? Ehh...she should say it anyway. Wasn't that what being a Hufflepuff was all about? "But good luck this year in Quidditch, even though I hope your team doesn't get first place again." She followed that up with a laugh.

"What kind of tournament? And why did you agree to something like that?" she asked. She wasn't accusing the girl of anything. She was just genuinely curious. "I'm just curious. It sounds kind of cool...in a brave sort of way." Not that Maddie was about to go volunteering for something like that herself, though. She kind of got the impression the older girl was about ready to kick off into the air and start her practice, so the third year decided she was done with questions for the day. Skylar didn't seem like she was anxious to talk about Antarctica anyway.
She laughed at that comment. "Yes, yes, I have already made the team. Part of the perks of the captain badge, I'd say," Skylar admitted casually. She was amused though at the younger girl. Good luck but don't win first? WOW. It's like a thanks, but no thanks. And it was kind of cute, which is pretty much the only reason Skylar saw light in the comment. "Ah, of course, you would hope that. But naturally, I'm hoping for the opposite. It is my last year and all," the seventh year winked. So basically, she was going to give it her all and hope for the best.

"It was a tournament between Ilvermorny and Hogwarts, basically to show off skill and academic success... I guess." Skylar shrugged. Honestly, she was only a fourth year and wasn't eligible to be selected and had it not been for her ex as a champion, she probably wouldn't have cared at all. "I guess, i just wanted to feel as though I can be a part of it? You had to be a fifth year to be selected as a champion, so in this way i was able to participate, without participating." Did that make sense? Maybe? She really didn't want to get into the complications of love and matters of the heart with a third year. No offense.

She glanced upwards and then back at the young Hufflepuff. "Anyway. I should get to practicing. Again, good luck to you for your tryouts. I'll see ya around." And maybe next time she'd feel more comfortable talking about the complications of love. Or not. Hufflepuffs were usually good with not being so persistent on topics.
