The headmistress' gaze shifted from the items on the table to those with her in the staff room. First there was Laurel, who mentioned scrying and then asked a series of questions. She wasn't too sure that the scrying was necessary, considering the complex spells she had casted to detect anything, but didn't say so. At this point, maybe it wouldn't hurt to tap into the Inner Eye.

Her eyes then locked with Roderik, and she couldn't help but nod her head at what he said in response to the Laurel's questions. He had taken the words right out of her mouth. "I agree. We can't say for certain at this point what the bind runes are meant to do or who put them there. A closer examination of each individual rune that make up the bind rune is needed to determine that. But my hunch is that the bind runes on these items were used to invoke strength, protection, and so on. If they were being used for dark purposes, then we would be dealing with the repercussions already."

Regina could sense the unease in all of them though, and understandably so. She wasn't surprised at all by the answers given to Roderik's question of what they should do with the items. But she agreed with what they all said. Tristian -- who she didn't blame at all for what had happened -- and Kalen were right about everything needed to be locked up and out of student reach. The woman opened her mouth to agree, but her focused shifted when the Ministry was mentioned.

Should they be involved? Regina, like Haraldur (if only she could hear his mumbling from the end of the table), wasn't too keen on that. She didn't need Ministry employees barging in, thinking she and her staff were incompetent when they clearly were more than capable. "For the time being," she replied to Kaysha, "let's leave the Ministry out of this. We have everything under control at the moment and there is no immediate danger as far as we can tell. I will make contact, though I do not think Ministry intervention is necessary right now."

Now, back to the question of what to do with the items. Hawthorne stood there in silence, thinking of where the safest place would be. The staff room wasn't exactly ideal, and they were there right now mostly for convenience. She briefly considered the Room of Requirement or one of the underground chambers, but those options were ruled out considering how often students explored those areas. "How about we keep these objects in the loft of my office? And, though the gargoyle ought to keep any student out, we can" -- she casted a look over to Gaston -- "set up a variety of enchantments to make sure the items cannot be summoned or easily removed."
