"I read about a..well, it's not really a condition in the normal sense of the word, but I'm not sure what else to describe it as. Synesthesia? Have you heard of it?" She didn't really wait for the Headmistress to respond before continuing. "It's where senses get crossed. So people with it can actually see music as colors and shapes. I was looking into how to enchant my violin, eventually," because it'd probably be a while before she was skilled enough for that, "to produce a similar effect when I play."
She might have been a tiny bit inspired by briefly seeing the Northern Lights in a recent astronomy lesson for a few seconds before she and Reese had been kicked out of the class. "Oh." This 'oh' was uttered very differently than the previous one. "I would have used the Room of Requirement instead, but it wouldn't open for me, so I think some one was already using it." The smile that had appeared on her face remained. Was someone surprised she wasn't asking about things about her, her family, or even getting kicked out of Astronomy? Yes, Regina knew bits and pieces about those things by word of mouth, but that, for the time being, was something to keep an eye on. For now, some lighthearted conversation was in order.
Her mouth opened to say that she knew about synesthesia, but the girl was already giving her a definition and continuing on about the spell she wanted to create. The woman's mouth closed, and she remained silent as the young Ravenclaw passionately spoke.
"I think that would make for a wonderful spell," she finally said with a nod of her head. "What have you got figured out so far? And have you considered speaking with Professor Marchand about it?"
As for the second 'oh,' Regina did notice that it was different than before. She was tempted to ask about that, but shrugged it off -- if anything, Quinn might have been expecting a very different response. Her head did nod at the mention of the Room of Requirement. "I see," she said with a slight shiver due to the cold. "So the backup plan was the battlements?" No music classroom? Or another, much warmer, part of the castle?
