Quinn visibly relaxed slightly at the question that Headmistress Hawthorne asked. It wasn't about her, or her parents or her life, or even that story she told that kid over summer. Thankfully it wasn't about that.

"Oh," she said, more lively now. "I read about a..well, it's not really a condition in the normal sense of the word, but I'm not sure what else to describe it as. Synesthesia? Have you heard of it?" She didn't really wait for the Headmistress to respond before continuing. "It's where senses get crossed. So people with it can actually see music as colors and shapes. I was looking into how to enchant my violin, eventually," because it'd probably be a while before she was skilled enough for that, "to produce a similar effect when I play."

She might have been a tiny bit inspired by briefly seeing the Northern Lights in a recent astronomy lesson for a few seconds before she and Reese had been kicked out of the class.

"Oh." This 'oh' was uttered very differently than the previous one. "I would have used the Room of Requirement instead, but it wouldn't open for me, so I think some one was already using it."
