Besides holding an Ancient Runes lesson earlier in the day, she had otherwise been cooped up inside her office taking care of administrative business. It was just another day at Hogwarts, thankfully one that didn’t involve any dramatics or everything going terribly wrong.
Even though she was quite focused on her work, Regina did notice her hourglass when sand started to slowly fall down to the bottom half. For a moment she was confused as nobody but herself, as well as the portraits of the previous heads of the school, were there. But she quickly deduced that there was someone, who she did not know, that was wanting to speak to her. As no one was entering the office already, she made the assumption that it wasn't a professor. A student must have been waiting outside, unable to get past the gargoyle.
Setting her paperwork aside, the woman rose from her desk and made her way out of the office and down the stairs. Upon her arrival, the stone guardian stepped aside and revealed a fourth year Hufflepuff, one that she had been asking Paul about often considering what had happened during the feast.
"Hello, Miss Swann. How have you been?" she said to the girl, stepping aside. "Come on in and grab yourself a seat."
