Startled out of his thoughts, he looked up to see that the hand outstretched towards him was Ewan's, so he gratefully took it to be pulled up on his feet. He couldn't help but raise his eyebrows in amusement at the term bro. It didn't escape his notice that Ewan had used it a bunch of times - was that what boys their age called each other? He wouldn't know, since most of his friends were either furry, feathery, or had scales. Was he ready? Of course not. "As ready as I'll ever be," he laughed, nervously chewing on his bottom lip. Was that the right moment to warn Ewan that he had his work cut out for him? Maybe not... he still had hope that he'd do better with muggle sports.
... Ewan was so going to unfriend him by the end of the day.
"So, how do you play this?" He'd been so tempted to bring parchment and a quill to take actual notes, but he figured his friend would laugh at him for many years to come and never let him forget it, so he needed to pay attention. |
