"Ah, so plenty of time. And yes, everyone's got a fair shot. Gotta make sure the best talent is there on all the teams." Makes sense, really. Because while she knew she was good and she loved playing quidditch, if there was someone better than her, if it would help her house to win the cup, she would want the best people in the best roles. Wait. What?!? Skylar had been about to kick off into the air and start her laps when the question threw her off guard.
"My fourth year, yes. And I don't know that it was Antarctica." Ugh, way to bring up feelings, kid. "But it was cold. It was all part of an agreement though in support of the inter-school tournament." And agreement and details that she really didn't want to talk about.
"Thanks," Maddie said, nodding in return.
"And I'd say good luck to you, too, but you're the captain. I'm assuming you've already made the team." She smirked on that note. She could also wish her good luck this Quidditch season, but...wasn't this girl the competition? Ehh...she should say it anyway. Wasn't that what being a Hufflepuff was all about?
"But good luck this year in Quidditch, even though I hope your team doesn't get first place again." She followed that up with a laugh.
"What kind of tournament? And why did you agree to something like that?" she asked. She wasn't accusing the girl of anything. She was just genuinely curious.
"I'm just curious. It sounds kind of cool...in a brave sort of way." Not that Maddie was about to go volunteering for something like that herself, though. She kind of got the impression the older girl was about ready to kick off into the air and start her practice, so the third year decided she was done with questions for the day. Skylar didn't seem like she was anxious to talk about Antarctica anyway.
