Quinn's mind was still reeling a bit about her non-verbal spellcasting, and probably would be for sometime, unless she confirmed it for herself one way or the other. And there was one spell perfect for definitively proving either way: the levitation charm. If there was one spell her wand seemed to love casting more than any other, it was that one.

She quickly finished jotting down the notes, including, once again, copying down the equation. The more she wrote it down, the more ingrained it would be in her mind. Once finished, she set down her quill and picked up her wand.

Quinn leaned forward at her desk, studying the pumpkins from her seat, until she found one that, while it wasn't the biggest, it was still a good solid size. Moment of truth.

She aimed her wand, concentrating with all her ability, visualizing the pumpkin rising from the table and floating to her. Wingardium Leviosa!

Nothing. Not even a wobble. Quinn frowned, but she wasn't done. She still needed to test a few more times to be sure. A few turned into half a dozen and half a dozen turned into a baker's dozen, each time Quinn tried to visualize her intent sharper and clearer. It didn't seem to make any difference.

That settled, it was time to get working for real. "Wingardium Leviosa." With a swish and flick of her wand, the pumpkin she'd picked out lifted off the table and floated over to her desk.

First up, of course was carving it. Quinn studied the wand movement illustrated on the board, and sounded the word out a few times. "Deef-IN-doe. Deef-IN-do. DiffINdo. DiffINdo. DiffINdodiffindodiffindo..." Nodding to herself now that she was confident she had the feel of the pronunciation again -it never hurt to practice the basics again when you have the chance- Quin repeated her standard method of working a spell out. Making sure her wand was aimed at the pumpkin, just in case, Quinn closed her eyes and focused first on feeling wand movement, adjusting whenever it felt off to her.
