"Yeah, it's not mine either. We're even," the blond sheepishly admitted and loosened her grip on the ticket since it didn't seem that Emmalyn was going to budge. "You can hold it." Unless she ran away with the ticket, of course. Vivian had been working on her defensive charms if anything unfortunate happened, and she really didn't want to jinx a second year though. How very un-Head-Girl-like that would be.

The chances of that being a winning ticket was slim, though, but it wouldn't hurt to find out. "I'm not against that, no," Vivian replied before glancing around. "Know anyone who actually reads the Prophet?" Because Vivian didn't. Not everyday, at least.
"It appears we are both being truthful" she said with a smile. That made her happy and relieved. She had no desire to try and trick the girl, but she didn't want to be taken advantage of either. Now that she felt they were on equal ground, she was ready to sort the ticket situation out.

"Oh, thanks" her fingers almost tingled with excitement at having sole position of the prized ticket. What if it was a winner? Her mind whirled with the possibilities. She had already purchased a broom, but she could have a nice broom and a practice boom. Plus, she would be able to pay for quidditch camp for the next few summers. There might even be enough for her to stock up with candy the next Hogsmeade visit.

"Anyone who reads the Prophet? Gosh, I don't think I do. Well, maybe one of the professors, but I'm not sure I want to go and ask one of them. They might make us give them the ticket. If we don't ask, then they can't tell us we can't keep it, right?" That sounded like a plan. She had said it before and she would say it again. "It's always better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission."

She looked down at the ticket and thought. "I wonder if there's another way to find out the numbers." After thinking a moment, her eyes widened "You probably know all kinds of spells. Do you have a spell to get us a Daily Prophet? Like summons one here or something like that?" It was worth a try.
