And...Eria yet again was reminded of why she couldn't stand first years or Hufflepuffs...Some went where the professor said not to, others were off to look at shiny things and weeds of the sea...the fifth year was far from impressed. This was why she had a bet with herself as to who would survive until graduation.

She was staying within earshot of her little blonde antagonist (Beth), to make sure she didn't join in the folly that was exploring potential danger without the safety net that was the big beautiful creature named Bartholomew Henry...

At least the lion child (Daniel) had enough of a brain to realize that adventuring in a lake full of merpeople, away from the large protective squid was, in fact, an entirely awful idea. Yes, she did think that one actually stood a chance of surviving long enough to graduate intact.

However...the one toddler her mini snake hung around seemed particularly stupid...wasn't it a ravenclaw? (Ewan) How sad, he'd been placed in absolutely the wrong house. You were meant to have brains in that house toddler...perhaps he'd missed the memo? Maybe the sorting hat had fire whiskey before the childs induction? He definitely was not surviving until graduation...and if baby snake followed him and got hurt she'd make sure he wasn't surviving to second year personally.

It wasn't like she was being overly protective...she was keeping an eye on her house because they were obviously the best and should win the house cup. If baby snake perished they were a man down. That was that. Her story, she was sticking to it.
