Derf was REALLY enjoying watching Chloe interact with the squid. It sorta reminded him of watching Natalie with the mooncalves a few terms ago and it warmed his heart and brought a BIG smile to his face. Though he would have preferred she not mention 'kissy faced' because that made his skin pepper in regrettable goosebumps and he was rubbing his arms subconsciously as a result.

Though her next question certainly tickled his curiosity. WERE there more? There HAD to be...squids didn't just APPEAR out of nothing, you know? There were eggs involved and stuff. And now Derf was wondering how Bartholomew Henry, a big boy squid, was managing all on his own IF he were really on his own.

"O-oi!" he laughed as he playfully swatted at the rock she was half bopping his nose with - though it was more like she was bopping his cheek with it. Though he really didn't mind, not really. And she had given him fair warning that she would attempt this very thing so it wasn't like he could pretend to be surprised.
