The separate practicing had gone as well as Stasya had expected it to, although to be honest she hadn’t really figured out what she wanted to test it on. Plus, there was still the matter of her question of why they shouldn’t complete the D-shape of the wand movement.

And then it seemed like she got her answer. A very messy answer, as Derf had exploded his inkwell all over his desk and, subsequently, hers as well. Or maybe he’d imploded it. She wasn’t sure which, but she definitely had seen the result. That and she was immensely glad she’d gotten her birthday card to safety before the mess. She didn’t think the ink would have gone all the way through her bag and inside, not when there had been her desk between the two. Plus her legs, and she’d looked up as Professor Grimsbane had Vanished all the ink. “I’m okay. At least it was only ink?” There were plenty of other possibilities that could’ve been worse, and she also didn’t want her Hufflepuff best friend feeling any guiltier than he probably already was so she wasn’t going to mention more. That and she sent him a smile to show that there wasn’t any harm done.

That and she was glad she hadn’t fallen asleep. Green wasn’t really her color, at least not when it came to her hair. “Could you cast Duro on someone’s shoes if they were chasing you? They’d have to stop to take them off before they could keep coming after you,” because stone shoes would be really heavy, and that way you’d get extra time to escape.
