Anyone who had known Abra for more than, say, a few hours would know that he was a crier, and not just when he was sad either, but for pretty much every single emotion. So it was, for this reason, difficult to get a grip of himself when Rylee went and said that to him. The relief and the appreciation was almost too much.

Almost. Because, you see, as long as he wasn't upset or anything, it wasn't too difficult for him to act his way through situations and not to get TOO emotional, in order to spare others from feeling awkward around him. He was getting better at it.

"Thanks, Rylee," Abra said, after taking a moment to make sure he could smile his way through his words and not just start bawling with relief. "That's really, really great to hear." It WAS, too. Abra grinned at her as she sped off to start her laps, and then as she went off, zooming around the pitch at an impressive speed.

-----

So far, things seemed to be going well, right? It definitely seemed that way to Abra, and it was sort of his job to watch everything, after all. So far he had spent the majority of tryouts in the very centre of the Quidditch pitch, revolving slowly in the air on his broom in an attempt to watch all of the proceedings at the same time. He had to be quick, with his eyes on the other Gryffindors more than they were on the clipboard, and so he was putting a lot of his trust into his spell-check quill, that was for sure.

Zoryn still seemed to be having some trouble with that broom of hers - or... well... the broom of not-hers, which was probably the whole root of the issue there. Abra had been hoping that a few laps would help her adjust to it a little better, but mostly he was glad to see that Zoryn had certainly not lost her enthusiasm or skill for actually hitting targets with bludgers.

There was plenty of action over at the hoops, which was excellent to see. Anna - another new one to tryouts - certainly wasn't afraid to show her skills with scoring, or her confidence on a broom. Abra was pretty thrilled that she'd chosen to try out for the team this term. Beau too, though it would have been a shock if the third year hadn't shown up. He, like Anna, was doing a great job at showing what he could do on the approach to the hoops, not just in scoring, which was exactly the sort of thing Abra had been hoping to see. Luckily, Abra - being so far away - had also missed that little mutter of his earlier, and was pretty preoccupied with watching his skills with a quaffle in any case.

As for the Keepers, Abra was glad to have caught sight of Faith and that excellent dive for the post-goal quaffle. She was another one of those trying out who was on a U17 team, so it made sense that she knew how to fly. All Abra needed to see now was how she guarded the hoops... even though he had seen all the saves she had made on the team the year before. Well, so far, he liked what he was seeing. That went for everyone, really.

... Should he say something to everyone now? Or just leave them to get on with things? Abra was half tempted to call out that everyone was doing a great job and to keep up the good work, but he didn't want to be a distraction. Right now he thought maybe it was best to be a sort of visibly invisible presence, only stepping in when necessary and otherwise keeping a close eye on the proceedings. He nodded to himself; so far, things were going well. Much better than his earlier feelings of impending doom had tried to convince him of, at least.
