Jessa didn't think she was clever? Chloe knew the older girl was clever, and not because she knew big words or wore blue, but because she knew how to do things and knew about people and could get things done. But lots of people couldn't see themselves very clearly. "I think you're clever, and you'll have to work very hard to convince me otherwise."

She finished jotting her notes from Jessa, all the suggestions on how to make her studying more effective. The planner went back into her bag, and Chloe curled up like a cat in her chair, pillowing her head on her arms. "I'm already started, honestly. Not anything crazy, but I don't want to get behind. It's impossible to catch up once you do."
