FINALLY. Chloe fell out of her lunging and scooped up her broom, giving Kirk a sunny smile as thanks for ending her misery. All her muscles were plenty limber by now, and she was eager to get moving. The school broom was new to her, so Chloe tucked the handle against her chin as she stepped back from the group. "You'll do real good, okay? We're gonna fly for a while, and everyone will be proud of you. I know you're a good broom, so you don't have to do anything except listen to me, and everything will be fine."
Some of that pep talk was for herself, probably. Chloe mounted her broom and took off in a smooth movement, her smile going ridiculously wide again when the broom performed exactly as requested. Good broom. Very very good broom. She moved slowly as she and the broom acclimated to each other, taking a few wide and easy turns. It pulled just slightly to the right, but not enough to impede her flight.
NOW FOR FAST. Trusting the broom to do its job, Chloe could be trusted to do hers. She leaned forward, zipping up into formation with the rest of the fliers going clockwise. One lap down, then the second with her head down and her elbows tucked, but by the third, Chloe was paying attention to those around her. "Race ya," she shouted at Juni as she passed her on the left.
