Lydia smiled at the boy as he blushed, obviously a bit embarrassed at showing off his accent, but Lydia thought it was brilliant!
"Hello," she said to the boy. "I'm Lydia. Nice to meet you! You're from America?"
Patrick turned to a the girl who started speaking to him, he was sure she heard his accent, and there it was. He smiled,
“Well was, my parents moved back to London the summer before I started here. Oh, I’m Patrick.” He forgot how strange it was for most people to hear an accent when they weren’t accustomed to the southern twang like his friends back home were. He was just glad he didn’t pick up the European slang.

And it wasn't like she was irresponsible, for Merlin's sake, no. Just as long as she was careful ... she didn't foresee any problems. "Hey Kye! Patrick! You two ready for tryouts?" Because she was most definitely counting on them trying out again; Kye basically killed it last year as chaser with Zarina and Junia.
Patrick turned and started talking to Skylar about quidditch. He had practiced a bit when his brothers were in town, mostly in hopes of making the team this year.
“So ready for this year. I cant wait to try out. We looking good for this term?” Quote:

Oooooooooooooooh this boy had an accent – Beth loved accents.
Looking over at Patrick she just smiled ”Hey! Hi…I’m Beth” she wasn’t trying to be anything but friendly. Friendly, for her seemed to always come like a double edged sword….oooh LYDIA WAS HERE - yeah.
Another girl came up to him and said hello, she looked a bit giddy, but he was sure it was just the first year nerves. He was so glad to see so many happy faces around Hogwarts this year especially in his house.
“Hey Beth, I’m patrick, welcome to Slytherin I’m sure you’ll love it.” Quote:

She finished her truffle and put the bag of candy neatly on the armrest, in case anyone wanted to help themselves. After Vivi and Sky said their piece to the group at large, Kye let out a "Woo!" and some golf claps.
Patrick Glanced over at Kye noticing how excited he was to be trying out for Quidditch again and just fly, he felt the same way. He was more into quidditch this year after having a year to get accustomed to the game.

He had spent a good amount of time in the kitchen making himself a nice cup of sleepy time tea because what better way to end the evening? The tea was poured into his own personal teacup that he had stashed away in one of the pockets of his robe, and once he was satisfied and ready to deal with all the annoying, smelly first years, he began his journey to the common room.
He muttered the password and pushed open the door to be greeted by so many people. Why did it seem like there were more first years than last year? He made a face but quickly covered it with his cup of tea. Mmmm, he sipped that tea as he made his way over to where his co-Prefect and Captain were standing, giving Professor Vance an acknowledgment nod as he passed by her.
He sipped his tea as he glanced around the common room; his eyes briefly landing on Felicity but just as quick as he looked at her, he looked away just as quickly.
"Sup, larvae?" He spoke as soon as the teacup was lowered from his lips. He was suppose to do introductions, yeah? "Flynn." He pointed to himself with his free hand then added, "Prefect Kowalski to you." He pointed to the group in the common room. "If you have any questions.... issues.... concerns..... anything at all, feel free to find Prefect Mayfield. She's more likely to not bite you. Now, if you must find me, I accept offerings in return for an answer to one question." If they had to ask him more than one question - well, that sucked for them. "What do I accept as an offering? I guess that's something you should find out if you need me." He paused once more and looked around. "Try not to get killed this year, larvae."
He moved from the front of the common room and headed for his dorm.
GoodNIGHT.
Patrick watched Flynn, man he couldn’t believe that he used to idolize him his first year, thank the wizarding gods for bringing him to his senses he was not going to ever be like Flynn, he was always going to try and be the best Patrick he could be.

Patrick was still getting used to the height, he could almost look down on Professor Vance. It was weird he used to have to look up to all of them, but then again his mama had prepared him for hitting close to 6’ this year like his older brothers.
“Had a great summer Professor Vance. I spent it back in Kentucky, but my brothers visited for a few weeks on vacation which made their trip back even more special. Did you have a great summer?” he always liked Professor Vance, she was a kind soul.

He obviously couldn't for ghost reasons.
“Sure sir.” patrick spun the wheel and landed on POPCORN. He was so ready for it, he popped the bean in his mouth started chewing ready for anything but really it tasted just like that movie popcorn he loved to get when he would go see a movie at the local theater.
“Tastes just like butter Sir.”
